THE PREMISE
Every Adult Carries an Inner Child
Behind every successful, capable, anxious, perfectionistic, people-pleasing, or disconnected adult is a child who learned how to survive. This weekend is an invitation to finally meet them with curiosity, compassion and care.

Meeting the Inner Child, Together
Before we were facilitators, we were children who learned how to survive. This is a small piece of who we're bringing into the room with you.

THE WORK
What You'll Learn
01
Understand Your Patterns
Learn why you think, feel, and react the way you do and how those patterns were shaped in childhood.
02
Build a Relationship With Your Inner Child
Instead of trying to get rid of difficult emotions, you'll learn how to listen to them and understand what they are trying to tell you.
03
Learn a Different Way of Relating to Yourself
A way of relating to yourself that you can continue long after the intensive is over.
What is an Inner Child Immersion?
During this intensive, we'll help you reconnect with the younger parts of yourself that have been waiting for your attention for years. Most of us were never taught how to have a relationship with ourselves — we learned how to cope, how to survive. But we didn't learn how to listen to the younger parts of us that still carry fear, shame, loneliness, or grief.
Many people have heard of the inner child, but few have truly met them.
During this immersive weekend, you'll begin to develop a relationship with the younger parts of yourself through RRP dialoguing, psychoeducation, embodiment practices, and therapeutic group work.
You'll leave with a clearer understanding of who your inner child is and practical tools to continue connecting with them long after the intensive ends.

This isn't a weekend that promises to heal your childhood. It's a weekend that will teach you how to begin a relationship with the part of you that still carries it
Healing doesn't begin with changing who you are.
It begins by understanding who you had to become.
THE MODEL
What is RRP?
The Relationship Recovery Process (RRP) is a therapeutic model developed by Amanda Curtin, LICSW, for healing trauma rooted in dysfunctional or unsafe family systems. It's built on a simple idea: growing up in an unsafe family splits us into two disconnected parts — an adult self who navigates the present, and an inner child who still holds the emotions, memories, and survival responses from our earliest years. RRP is the process of reconnecting them, so the adult can lead and the child can finally be heard and cared for.
The work moves through three goals — grieving the childhood you needed but didn't get, finishing business with the family patterns that shaped you, and reclaiming the capacity for real intimacy and connection. In practice, this looks like inner child re-parenting, written dialogues between the adult and child self, psychoeducation on how trauma shapes the brain and body, and experiential, body-based processing — done in a group, alongside others doing the same work.
Therapist Patrick Teahan, LICSW, first encountered RRP as a client working through his own childhood trauma under Amanda Curtin's mentorship. That experience became the foundation for his own clinical practice, and he has since brought the model to a much wider audience — through his writing, courses, and ongoing research aimed at establishing RRP as a recognized, evidence-based treatment. Marissa's own RRP training and specialization grew out of that same lineage.

Is this right for you?
Inner Child Immersion is designed for people who are ready to move beyond simply understanding their childhood and experience this work in relationship with others.
You'll belong here if.....
This might not be the right time if....
-
You’re curious about group work, or you’ve already experienced it and want to go deeper.
-
You’ve been doing individual inner child or childhood trauma work and feel like there’s something more you need.
-
You’re curious about longer-term group work but want an opportunity to experience it first.
-
You want to develop a relationship with your inner child but aren’t quite sure how to do that on your own.
-
You sometimes wonder whether your childhood was really “bad enough” to have affected you — but you know something happened, or didn’t happen, that continues to matter.
-
You’re currently in a significant crisis and need more individualized support than a group intensive can provide.
-
Being emotionally present in a group feels too overwhelming or difficult to manage right now.
-
You’re looking for a weekend that will fix or resolve your childhood rather than deepen an ongoing process.
-
You’re not currently open to exploring how childhood experiences may still be affecting you.
-
You’re primarily looking for education about trauma without participating in experiential, relational, and group work.
Your Facilitators

Cameron Fowler -BSN. RN.
RRP Group Facilitator
Cam specializes in and was trained by Amanda Curtin in the Relationship Recovery Process (RRP), helping clients create the conditions for lasting change — where healing isn't just an insight, but something they can feel in their body, relationships, and daily life. Clients describe her as warm, grounding, and direct in a supportive way. Cam's role is to walk alongside clients as they integrate the growth they've been working toward, so they can move forward with a deeper sense of safety, freedom, and belonging. Find out more about Cam and her work.

Gabriel Marchand - MA.
RRP Group Facilitator and Embodiment Guide
Gabriel is a Creative Arts Therapist and RRP practitioner. He holds an MA from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, and training in the RRP model from Amanda Curtin. His own recovery from a traumatic childhood led him to center his practice as a therapist around helping others do the same. At the heart of Gabriel's ethos lies the belief that recovery from childhood trauma is necessary because it frees us to be ourselves, and thus to give the gifts we hold within us to share with the world — and that is where the fulfillment and purpose of a human life lies. While survival might be the spark that begins our recovery, the pull towards a meaningful life is what draws us forward through the course of it. Find out more about Gabriel.
